Harvest time in Napa is a beautiful and busy time of year when vineyard workers begin picking the grapes. In late summer, the lush, green vineyards become full of ripe, juicy grapes ready to be picked. This marks the beginning of the harvest season and the grapes are carefully collected by hand over the course of weeks. The process requires dedicated, experienced workers who must maneuver along steep hillsides and pick only the ripest of the grapes. Once picked, the grapes are rushed back to the winery for pressing, fermentation and bottling, to produce some of the world's finest wines. It's a time of celebration and anticipation for both the workers and the wine-lovers who will soon be able to sample the resulting vintage.
